The National Institute on Aging’s National Cell Repository for Alzheimer’s Disease (NCRAD) is seeking families to contribute blood samples for ongoing genetic studies. Currently, different studies are recruiting families with:
  • At least two living siblings diagnosed with Alzheimer’s after the age of 60
  • Multiple living members with Alzheimer’s disease who are not siblings
  • Multiple living members with memory loss or dementia not apparently due to Alzheimer’s.

Participants can be seen at one of the National Institute on Aging’s 29 Alzheimer’s Disease Centers – located within general medical centers in 22 states – and elsewhere. See the Cell Repository Website at http://ncrad.iu.edu/Participate/index.asp for details, locations, and contact information.

Information is collected and maintained for each participating family, including family history, demographic data, medical records on the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of symptomatic subjects, and neuropathological findings, when available. Researchers seeking genetic samples and data for research may contact NCRAD at http://ncrad.iu.edu/forResearchers/samples.asp
